Bangkok Airways is a private airline based in Bangkok, Thailand. Its main base is the Bangkok International Airport but the company built and currently owns three airports in Thailand: Samui, Sukhothai and Trat. Established on 1968 as Sahakol Air, initially operating taxi air sevices, now Bangkok Airways serves domestic and also international destinations in Cambodia, China, Japan, Laos, Myanmar and Singapore. Aiming to promote local tourism, it chooses its destinations among those sites with most historical and cultural richness.
